Delhi Capitals vs CSK – Predict & Double your prize amount!

Delhi Capitals – Men with a mission

At the start of this IPL, no one would have given the faintest chance to Delhi Capitals side. Led by a young Shreyas Iyer, lots of pundits and cricket fans thought of them as merely pushovers for the other teams filled with veterans and Superstars. But Delhi Capitals proved everyone wrong with a spirited performance to reach the playoffs.

This is a side which ended up at the bottom of the IPL table last time with 5 wins and 9 losses. Now the whole equation has been reversed. With 9 wins from 14 matches, they were ranked right up with the best teams of this league – Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings. A better run rate could have helped them even top the league.

The eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday was a banana slip for DC. A slip would have been its swansong and it would have been knocked out of the tourney thereby bringing in an end to a colorful story. But the resolve and never-say-never attitude of the youngsters in the team saw them conquer the hurdle in a thrilling finish. Now they are up against the formidable CSK, which has the habit of rising from the ashes too many times. In other words, they are one step away from the final and that step is a giant barrier they have to breach. When the two teams clash tonight all eyes would be on MSD and Rishab Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman of both the teams. Both have been among runs this season and have won matches for their team respectively.

Delhi Capitals

DC – the Young guns

Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant have been excellent with the bat. Much has been discussed about Rishabh Pant’s non-selection in World Cup squad and he answered his critics in style by playing some blinders in this IPL edition. However, he must find a way to stick around until the end of the match and finish the job more frequently for serious consideration. The experience of Shikhar Dhawan, Amit Mishra, and Ishant Sharma have come in handy this season for DC. Kagiso Rabada, who is the purple cap holder has been badly missed and DC have not been able to replace him. Also, the Shreyas Iyer side has displayed nervousness during crunch situations and they let the grip slip. It was evident during the matches they lost in this edition despite having an upper hand.

CSK – the behemoth of IPL

CSK has a history of seizing the opportunity and peak at the right time. Having been in the final for a record 7 times and winning the title thrice, CSK has become synonymous with the IPL and has been hailed as the behemoth of the league. MSD’s cricket acumen has been praised worldwide and that has probably played a big role in the franchise’s popularity. You don’t even have to dig in pedantically; a rudimentary analysis would help you know how popular the franchise is with the cricketing masses.

The difference between the two teams is stark. From the average age (CSK’s average age is 34 whereas DC’s age average is 27) to approach to the game, both the teams are poles apart. While Delhi’s young guns have played with a passion and resolve that we have never seen from them, one cannot discount the experience and guile of the veterans in CSK. DC has drawn wide admiration for reposing their faith on the team’s youngsters and they have performed splendidly.

Loaded with veterans like Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambatti Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja and the skipper MSD himself, CSK knows the knack of winning crucial matches and its resolve in relentlessly pursuing top honors should work in its way. Despite boasting a team with star-studded players, CSK’s batting this year has been a cause of a worry for them. They compensated the shortcomings in their bowling with a strong bowling lineup that includes the likes of Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravindra Jadeja. Tahir with 23 wickets is just two short of breaking Rabada’s record to win the purple cap.

Youth vs Experience

CSK to their advantage has defeated Delhi Capitals twice this season. So, it’s going to be an uphill task for the young guns of Delhi Capitals to pass this Chennai barrier. So who do you think will prevail in this encounter? This match is going to be a cracker of a contest where both the team would try to come out all guns blazing. Can Delhi Capitals, who are on the cusp of making history, overcome their bowling woes to dethrone the behemoth CSK from the league? Can the youth overcome the experience?

IPL 2019 offer – Mumbai vs Chennai Super Kings – Predict & Double your wins

After 44 days of grueling cricket action that saw 56 matches, the league stage of IPL has come to a close. Out of the 8 teams that have been vying for the title, 4 teams have got one step closer to it by qualifying for the playoff and they are Mumbai, Chennai Super Kings Delhi Capitals, and SRH. For the first time in the history of IPL, the top 3 teams of the IPL have secured the same number of points – Mumbai, CSK, and DC occupy the first 3 places with 18 points each. SRH had a rough ride and they somehow scampered to the fourth spot and earned their place in the playoffs because of the fact KKR lost its last league match against a spirited Mumbai team.

Mumbai vs Chennai Super Kings

As we move into the playoffs, we have a blockbuster encounter to look forward to. A spirited Mumbai team takes on the mighty CSK at their own fortress at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai are three-time IPL champions and would be trying to cement their legacy with a fourth win. Mumbai vs CSK is considered as one of the fiercest rivalries of IPL. There has been a no bigger rivalry in the history of IPL than these two teams. Mumbai Skipper Rohit Sharma refers to this rivalry as El Clasico of cricket.

Mumbai have won both the encounters against Chennai Super Kings this season so they would have a psychological edge over them. In the 26 encounters between both the teams, Mumbai has a better win record at 15-11. Also, CSK has lost their last four of the five matches against Mumbai and they have won 3 of their last 4 matches at Chepauk. In fact, Mumbai is the only team to have a better record against Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings – lion at their fortress

In the last 23 matches at home, Chennai Super Kings has won 19 and their losses have come against Mumbai and KKR. Chepauk has certainly been a happy hunting ground for the men in yellow. For CSK, their biggest strength is the form of their skipper who has been in subliminal touch of late. Dhoni has been on a Midas touch with the bat and has single-handedly won several games for CSK this season. The spin trio of Harbhajan/Imran Tahir/Jadeja has delivered big time. The spin trio has 47 wickets between them. Imran Tahir with 21 scalps is not far off from displacing Kagiso Rabada who is the current purple cap holder with 25 wickets. The biggest problem Chennai Super Kings has been facing is its shoddy and erratic batting, especially in the top order. CSK suffered a fresh blow yesterday with the loss of Kedhar Jadhav as he is out of the tourney due to an injury.

Barring MS Dhoni, none of the batsmen delivered consistently. Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, and Faf Du Plessis have not been at their clinical best so far. But let’s not forget they are big match players. Remember how Shane Watson came out of a lean patch last year with a swashbuckling century against SRH last year?

Mumbai –  beaming with confidence

Mumbai Team’s biggest strength is their gun player “Hardik Pandya”. Hardik did to Mumbai what MSD did to CSK. Not only he set the stadium ablaze with some astonishing hitting but also pulled a lot of tricks with the ball to help the flailing Mumbai Side. Hardik Pandya along with Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga are the key players for the Mumbai Side. Rohit Sharma finally found the momentum with a well-made half-century against KXIP and Quinton De Kock has played some outstanding knocks.

Both the teams might suffer from fatigue as they had games on Sunday and had to spend the next day traveling to Chennai. The winner gets one step closer to the title with a direct final berth, whereas the loser has the luxury of getting there with a lifeline by getting to play in Qualifier 2. Of course, there will be a sea of yellow in Chepauk with chants of CSK and Dhoni blowing the roof. However, the record Mumbai has against Chennai Super Kings would make any fan a bit iffy. Regardless of the outcome, we are sure to witness an exciting encounter tonight.

IPL 2019 – SRH vs CSK – Predict and win double!

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and SunRisers Hyderabad will clash for the first time this season in a match today at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The last time they met was during the final of the previous year’s edition where Shane Watson’s murderous assault on the hapless SRH bowlers sealed their fate. This year things have changed a lot for both the sides.

MS Dhoni-led CSK is comfortably placed at the top with seven wins out of eight matches. On the other hand, SRH is languishing at the bottom of the table with just three wins from seven games. CSK is off from a victory over KKR that saw Suresh Raina coming to form after an indifferent season and have more or less confirmed their place in the playoffs whereas SRH is off from three consecutive losses.
